Each analysis has specific requirements for bottle type, sample volume, preservations and holding times.
For example, here are some notes for your Wet Chemistry samples:
- Alkalinity should always have its own bottle.
- Ammonia, Total Phosphorous, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN) are all preserved in the same way and can share a container.
- Anions only require one container, but the holding times vary.
- Bromide and Sulfate can be analyzed for up to 28 days from sample collection.
- Nitrate, Nitrite and ortho-Phosphate analysis must be completed within 48 hours of collection.
