January 2015 – Susan Sylvester, President and CFO of Absolute Resource Associates of Portsmouth, NH, has been appointed to the Environmental Technologies Trade Advisory Committee (ETTAC), as a representative of the remediation segment of the US environmental technology sector. Sylvester was nominated by US Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), and appointed by Penny Pritzker, US Secretary of Commerce in January 2015.
The Environmental Technologies Trade Advisory Committee was formed in 1994 to advise the U.S. Secretary of Commerce on trade issues facing the U.S, by developing actionable recommendations to improve the export competitiveness of environmental technologies, and advising on the development and administration of policies and programs to expand U.S. exports of environmental technologies, goods, and services.
“I am pleased to be appointed to the committee and lend my expertise,” Sylvester said. “I welcome the opportunity to work with like-minded professionals to further the goals of the committee and create new opportunities for the environmental sector.”
The Committee meets 3-4 times per year, usually in Washington, D.C. All meetings are advertised in the Federal Register and are open to the public.
